Strawberry Recovery Smoothie Recipe

As we've learned from our own experts at The Athlete's Parent, chocolate milk is the perfect choice for recovery after a workout. (Refuel with Chocolate Milk by Amy Goodson, MS, RD, CSSD LD) This Strawberry Recovery Smoothie contains three ingredients that are great for your athlete, one of which guessed, chocolate milk! This smoothie is a great way to get your athlete a healthy helping of fruit, protein, carbohydrates, and calcium.


1 1/2 Cup of frozen strawberries

1 Cup of chocolate milk

1/2 Cup of low fat vanilla yogurt


Blend together strawberries and chocolate milk in a blender until the strawberries are smoothly chopped and the mixture reaches a Wendy's frosty texture. Next, add the yogurt and blend until all of the ingredients are evenly mixed. Do not over blend. Over blending will cause your smoothie to be runny. This recipe yields an 8 ounce thick and creamy smoothie. If you like your smoothie to be a little less thick, add chocolate milk until you reach the desired consistency.
